Are you losing out on traffic to your blog by not working a social media strategy properly?

You probably do have a social media presence, but you need to make sure you’re making the most of on your efforts if you want to increase your traffic and sales.

Got a blog?  Got an online business?  Then read on…

There’s a lot of strategies out there to get traffic, leads, and sales; but we’re going to talk about the long-term FREE strategy that’s one of the most powerful you can get connected with:  Social Media

The efforts you do once, stay out there and can pay you over and over again over time, so it’s pretty critical that you’re mindful of what you’re posting and have a strong intention/goal in mind when doing so.  Remembering this is a way to make long-lasting valuable connections to attract new followers, market your brand online and make more sales.

Here’s what you want to do to make sure you’re leveraging your efforts on social media, so you can build a deep long-term base of value that comes back to you ten-fold:

encourage lead generation

Encourage Lead Generation Through Engagement

Sit down and put some thought into your posting schedule.  If you just take a few hours each week and dedicate it to being active on your social media sites, it can increase your traffic and lead generation tremendously.  15 minutes here, 20 minutes there.. it all adds up!.

Interact, like and share other people’s stuff, comment on posts, and be genuinely interested in others.  Promote engagement and other people will be inclined to engage with your content as well.

quality content increases traffic generation

Quality Content Increases Traffic Generation

Use catchy and attention-grabbing headlines for the content you’re sharing.  Utilizing social media to publish your content can dramatically increase the amount of traffic to your site, so look for ways to engage with your audience; ask questions and provide solutions and answers to questions they may be asking or find valuable.

Quotes are infographics and extremely popular.  Get your message across and attract attention by adding text to images.  One great site I found for creating some really neat quote graphics is  I also use Canva a lot to create images.

(P.S. Here’s a post I did on how to create stunning images for your blog)

have a mobile optimized blog

Have a Blog that is Mobile Optimized

Definitely don’t overlook this one.  You absolutely need a mobile responsive site in order to stay optimized and encourage social sharing.  When your blog is mobile-friendly it makes it so much easier for people to read, share on other social platforms, and come back again and again.

How frustrating is it to pull up a website on your smartphone and not be able to read it properly or have to zoom in and out all crazy… No Thanks.  I’m not sticking around on that one too long.

This is the platform I use to keep my blog optimized for mobile sharing at all times.  It’s already built in to be mobile friendly, so there’s no extra techie stuff involved.

Leverage social media on your blog

Use various social media platforms for sharing content related to the products and services your offer, rather than paying high fees for advertising.

Add social media buttons to your site to encourage sharing and engagement.

Take advantage of the instant feedback you can get via social media.  Reach out to your followers and leads, answer questions and be personable.  Remember, people don’t joint businesses, they join people.

While marketing on social media can be valuable in many ways (increased traffic and increased SEO rankings), you need to make sure you take the time to consider how you are implementing the above to be most effective and beneficial to your business.  All are important factors worth taking the time to add to your strategy.

What about you?  What are some other things you’re making note of in your social media marketing strategy to build out your business?

There are so many things to take into account when writing blog posts it can be so overwhelming. While we know of many and most people kinda know what they have to do online to promote their stuff, often it’s not doing it efficiently or properly that doesn’t get us the results.
